Lao Development Bank and TCR Group Back USD 12 Million Hotel Project in Luang Prabang

Lao Development Bank (LDB) is working with TangChareon (TCR) Group on a new project to bring an international hotel brand to Luang Prabang. The partnership goes beyond lending. It reflects a shared belief that businesses and banks can grow together and lay the groundwork for long-term development.
TCR Group's Approach to Growth
TCR Group sees itself as a connector of social progress. In its view, a good business links its own expansion to the development of local communities through collaboration and partnerships that last.
The project sits on a plot of roughly 21,416 square metres. The Group's Chairman bought the land more than a decade ago, aiming to extend the Group's hotel operations from southern Laos to the north. Advancing the project now turns that long-standing plan into reality. It will be the fourth hotel developed by TCR Group.
A Major Step for Luang Prabang
The total planned investment exceeds USD 12 million. The goal is to open a hotel under an international brand that broadens lodging choices and gives visitors new experiences.
The concept pairs the brand's service standards with the character of Luang Prabang, so guests can enjoy the atmosphere of a UNESCO World Heritage city while staying in comfortable, convenient surroundings. The hotel is expected to strengthen the city's capacity to host visitors and support the long-term growth of Laos's tourism industry.
LDB's Role as a Long-Term Partner
For LDB, the project puts its guiding philosophy into practice: being a dependable friend to its clients while backing sustainable investment. The bank does not want to be seen merely as a source of funds. It aims to be a long-term strategic partner that helps clients plan, weigh decisions, solve problems and grow alongside them. Providing capital is only the starting point, and shared growth is the real objective.
The "Plant a Flag" initiative deepens the sustainable partnership between LDB and TCR Group. It also shows LDB's intention to put strategic partners at the centre of how it supports business, offers advice and contributes to economic development, with the aim of mutual benefit and lasting success.
The project is also expected to support national socio-economic development, mainly by creating jobs and contributing to public revenue.
